Greenville, SC (March 26, 2018) – euphoria Food, Wine and Music Festival is pleased to announce the appointment of Morgan Allen as its new executive director. The selection was made after an extensive, nationwide search and comprehensive selection process conducted by Swingbridge Consulting, a non-profit management support organization based in Charlotte, N.C. Having been a part of the euphoria team since 2016, Allen’s experience along with her enthusiasm and dedication for the festival made her the best candidate for the position. In her new role, Allen will manage euphoria’s full-time staff, expand the annual event’s corporate sponsorship base, serve as the year-round community representative and enrich the talent pool of nationally acclaimed guest chefs and musical acts.
“Morgan is the perfect choice for assuming the position of executive director for the euphoria, Food, Wine and Music Festival,” said Amy Vanderwerff, Chairman of the Board for euphoria. “Her demonstrated ability to secure and oversee participating talent and to connect and engage with our community, along with her commitment to the enhancement and growth of the festival have inspired the entire team, and we are delighted to welcome her into this new role.”
Allen first joined the euphoria team as event director of food and beverage where she played a critical role in developing and overseeing the aspects of the four-day festival, as well as several pre-festival events. Prior to joining euphoria, she served as the food and beverage manager at The Grille at Mahogany Run & Mahogany Run Golf Course in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. In this role, she managed all food and beverage outlets and the day-to-day operations, as well as designed, planned and implemented all food-related events. Allen has held various leadership positions over the last 11 years, with roles ranging from volunteer and community outreach manager, to restaurant manager and marketing manager.
“I am honored to be among the leaders of an event that has demonstrated consistent dedication and enthusiasm towards Greenville's thriving culinary and arts communities while making a philanthropic impact on the city,” says Allen. “I look forward to continuing euphoria’s mission to educate, entice, enlighten and entertain, as well as exploring new and effective avenues to connect the top culinary and beverage talent and acclaimed musicians from the Southeast with the Greenville community and its visitors.”
