Duncan, S.C., July 20, 2018 – The DRÄXLMAIER Group, a Tier 1 supplier to the international automotive industry, has named Edmund Eggensberger the new manager of its production plant in Duncan, S.C. The appointment became effective on July 18.
Eggensberger has been with the DRÄXLMAIER Group since October 2008, when he was hired as plant manager for the production site in Landau, Germany. He eventually joined the team in Duncan in October 2013 at the director level to oversee the worldwide standardization of injection molding systems. During his 25 years in the international automotive industry, he has held leadership positions in industrial engineering, production and logistics at various automotive suppliers.
"With his extensive experience in the automotive industry, Edmund Eggensberger will lead our largest U.S. plant site to create more synergies within our global production network," said Dr. Josef Mittermeier, CEO of the DRÄXLMAIER Group in the Americas.
A native of Germany, Eggensberger and his wife have made a home in the Upstate of South Carolina. Away from work, he enjoys flying single-engine planes and running.

The company currently has 11 production sites in the region, one of them at its U.S. headquarters in Duncan, where it has been manufacturing interior systems since 1996. In addition to the South Carolina location, the DRÄXLMAIER Group also maintains logistics hubs in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Tuscaloosa, Ala., an engineering office in Mountain View, Calif., and a production site in Livermore, Calif.
