GREENVILLE, S.C. – 9Round, the international kickboxing fitness franchise, was recently ranked in Entrepreneur magazine’s first-ever Top Franchise Brands list. This list recognizes the 200 franchisors that have built the strongest brands, based on data submitted for Entrepreneur’s2017 Franchise 500 ® ranking. 9Round was ranked #115.
"This list captures the essence of what makes a strong brand: It's that perfect balance between consistency and constant evolution," says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. "The brands we highlight know exactly what they are, but they also embrace change."
To determine which franchises have the strongest brands, Entrepreneur analyzed factors such as social media followers, system size, number of years in business, number of years franchising, and overall reputation—and looked at how they all combine to form lasting relationships with fans.
“People around the world love 9Round because it brings specialized kickboxing fitness to the average person in a way that’s convenient, affordable and fun,” says Shannon Hudson, founder and CEO, 9Round. “Being ranked on this list is a great reward for our team’s hard work, dedication and commitment to the 9Round brand.”
Developed nine years ago by Hudson, the former IKF Light Middleweight Kickboxing Champion of the World, 9Round has made a name for itself around the globe with its energetic 30-minute workouts. Each 9Round workout consists of nine, three-minute stations of activities that include cardio, weight training, core exercises and kicks and punches on 100-pound, double-end, upper cut and speed bags. A real boxing bell rings to begin the workout, another to warn the station is ending and a third to signal the end. After completing each round, members have a 30-second active break. Additionally, there are no class times, trainers are always on site to lead the workouts, and routines change daily, giving members a fresh workout every time they come in.
To date, 9Round operates more than 540 locations in 40 US states and 11 countries. Additionally, 9Round plans to open new locations in Turkey and Costa Rica in the coming months, as well as have 1,000 locations open by the end of 2018.
